Bee Sting Cake Recipe. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the egg mixture. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant yeast and flour.
Stir in almonds until well coated. Gradually add sugar, beating until light. Punch down dough (but make and cool glaze first).
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and almonds.
Press into the base of prepared tin, ensuring dough covers the base of the tin.
Then add the melted butter, egg, and milk to the flour mixture. In a saucepan bring the milk just to boiling (just until milk starts to foam up.) Remove from heat and add slowly to egg mixture (tempering), whisking constantly to prevent curdling. Put the bottom layer back into the pan, fill with the pastry cream and place the top layer on top.
