Usb Cable Types Chart
Usb Cable Types Chart. Let's cover some of the various features you should keep in mind when looking for your next USB cable. They are also known as USB Type A.
On the Go (OTG) devices commonly use the Micro-A USB cable and differ from the normal USB connection. There is no direction, and you can plug this in upright or reversed. Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry standard that establishes specifications for cables, connectors and protocols for connection, communication and power supply (interfacing) between computers, peripherals and other computers.
Type-B connectors are at the other end of a typical USB cable that plugs into a peripheral device, such as a smartphone, a printer or a hard drive.
This is to prevent potential damage that would be caused by connecting two computers via USB-A, for example.
There are many types of USB cables, and you may find yourself wondering where each one can be used. If the cable has a Type-A connector at one end (as in the above image), that will usually be the first type. These cables always have USB-A on one end with a different port type on the other, and can be used for device charging and data transfer.
